Dr. Madan Pillutla, currently serving as the Dean and Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Indian School of Business, has a remarkable academic background. Holding an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from BITS, Pilani, Dr. Pillutla pursued postgraduate studies at XLRI, Jamshedpur, and the University of Illinois, and graduated with a PhD from the University of British Columbia.
His contributions extend beyond academia, with numerous publications in the best academic journals within his field. Notably, he has served as an associate editor for prestigious publications such as the Academy of Management Annals and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. Additionally, Dr. Pillutla has lent his expertise to the editorial boards of leading journals including the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, and Administrative Science Quarterly.
Recognized for his excellence in teaching, Dr. Pillutla has received many awards, particularly during his tenure at LBS. He pioneered the popular Negotiations elective and oversaw successful executive education programs like the Essentials of Leadership and Negotiation & Influence. His teaching prowess extended to the founding batches of the PGP program at both the Hyderabad and Mohali campuses of the Indian School of Business (ISB), where he received accolades, including the Best Teacher Award from the inaugural batch of students at the Mohali campus.
