Dr. Neelima Dubey
Associate Principal Research Scientist
Dr. Neelima Dubey received her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Zoology from the Department of Zoology, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, India. Subsequently, Dr. Dubey did her post-doctoral training at the National Institute of Mental Health, NIH, Bethesda, USA in the area of Behavioral Endocrinology and Stem Cells. She worked at the National Institute of Cell Science (NCCS), Pune, India as a Project Scientist after returning from USA. Following this, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Dr. DY Patil Biotechnology Institute, Pune. Dr. Dubey relocated to Hyderabad in the year 2022 and joined Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences as an Associate Principal Research Scientist in August 2022.
Dr. Dubey’s Laboratory is interested in understanding endocrine regulation of brain functioning. Her immediate focus is towards understanding the involvement of reproductive steroids in the pathophysiology and molecular basis of brain diseases such as postpartum depression and major depressive disorders in women. Her laboratory’s key expertise is in modeling diseases with a “Disease in a Dish” approach. The lab utilizes patient-derived in vitro disease models such as immortalized cellular models, and stem cell models (LCLs, iPSC & brain organoid) to investigate the molecular mechanisms involved in the hormonal regulation of brain functions.
