An agreement has been signed between the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of the Govt. of India, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. (DRL), CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CSIR-CDRI), and Dr Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences (DRILS). The agreement, signed on June 23 at the premises of DRILS marks the initiation of a DST & DRL sponsored research project entitled “Novel Small Molecules as Selective and Positive Allosteric Modulators (PAM) of 5-HT2c receptor: Discovery and Development of potential Anti-obesity Agents”. This project, valued at ~₹145 lakhs is being sponsored by DST (~₹100 lakhs) under the Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Research Programme (DPRP), with DRL as the industry partner (~₹45 Lakhs).
